At seventeen Tiyane's got it goin' on man. He's the hot new football star and everyone wants a piece of his ass - including Linda, longtime friend suddenly turned hot babe. Skido, school joker, and fellow footballer Nocks, want him to get it on with Linda but Tiyane aint having none of that! He's going to play for Man United some day and girls just don't fit into that plan.

But accidents will happen. When his dad and his scooter have a parting of the ways, Tiyane suddenly has to represent the family at Uncle Silas' wedding - boring - and, which is even worse, miss an important away game for his team, Hyenas.

Frustrated that he might lose a regular place as team striker, Tiyane hooks up with Linda. Before either of them knows what is going on, they're gettin' it on!

Tiyane wants to forget it happened but Linda's in looove. And then…..! He meets Juliet and he's totally whipped man. She is totally out of his league, a mixed-race, upper class, convent schoolgirl. But that don't stop Tiyane none, coz when he's out to git something he gits it! Juliet becomes his ideal, his secret obsession.

Tiyane's life starts its slow spin out of control. So when Linda tells him she is pregnant, that freaks him out and he denies it. He's not even ready for a serious relationship let alone a Baby??? Get outta here.

Alone and angry, Linda tries to abort her baby and nearly bleeds to death before Tiyane accidentally finds her. So although he knows for sure she's pregnant and expelled from school, he still refuses to admit the problem (okay girls I know we want to call him all sorts of names at this point, but we won't - okay?!) Although his private world is falling apart, Tiyane is still making headlines with his goal scoring skills.

Tiyane decides to say nothing; do nothing. But then Skido is hospitalised with an Aids-related illness. By comparison, Tiyane's problems seem minor. Just when he tries to put everything right again, he gets the surprise of his life!!

He gets the baby - in a basket - on his doorstep. He panics! After a day of bungled baby care, he finally has to admit he has a responsibility. And, for the first time, he has to tell the truth - to his parents, to his teachers, to Juliet, to himself. Now he has a son, at seventeen.

Yellow Card might be set in Africa, but is a story for everyone. It's a rites-of-passage film, full of action, humour, heartache and absurdity. It's a story of love, lust, betrayal and hope.
